Thank you to the Chamber, St. Elizabeth Healthcare, and Toyota for supporting the Women’s Initiative. I am honored and humbled to be recognized with the remarkable women honored at this event, along with past honorees. Allow me to express my appreciation to the incredibly accomplished women who nominated me for this outstanding honor – Dr. Angie Taylor, Carissa Schutzman and Rhonda Whitaker – well-respected leaders I am honored to be associated with on both a professional and personal level.

I am fortunate to be employed by Duke Energy, a highly ethical corporation that strongly values corporate citizenship. My co-workers allow me to work in an industry that powers the businesses and homes in my community – providing economy and comfort every day.

I am a woman of faith and am blessed to have a circle of extremely supportive family and friends. A mother and grandmother who paved the way with an “anything is possible” and “life is full of choices” attitude. My son, Michael, is the center and soul of my life, who along with my beautiful daughter, Lindsey – provides me sunshine and the reason to fight for life.

Thank you again to the many people who have touched my life on this wonderful journey. Remember – the road to success is always under construction.
